Caltech chemists have developed a precise ruler of terahertz light that will aid in the study of organic molecules in space, and the soft interactions between molecules in water. Due to its resemblance to a hair comb, the ruler is called a terahertz frequency comb.
Recent News & Anouncements:
Terahertz technology is set to enter the mainstream, enabling better performance in a wide range of applicationsMarch 27th, 2015
Developing sources and detectors of electromagnetic radiation has been fundamental to scientific progress. But such devices have been lacking in one part of the spectrum – the so called ‘terahertz gap’.
Optical Society honors pioneering work on high-performance terahertz quantum-cascade lasers.
Plasmonic filters created with an off-the-shelf inkjet printer could enable blazing-fast wireless downloads and clearer cellphone calls using the terahertz spectrum.
